Well what has happened since out last blog in October- not much really but it seems like loads. Mike has received the formal offer in writing with a few ammendents that he wanted to have changed.

Mikes new firm have started the process now, we have a Lawyer acting on our behalf who is dealing with the LMO (labour market opinion) which has to be done. This docement has to be handed into the canadian goverment, they then make sure everything is in place and they send us the LMO, with this document we can then apply for TWP either at Canada House in London or apply for our Temp work premits at the port of entry.

We have decided to apply at port of entry so hopefully in 3-4 weeks from now we should hopefully have our flights booked for January 2009!

We have been trying to decide where to settle in, after alot of thinking we are probably going to settle for McKennzie Towne which is SE Calgary, its a lovely area with great schools and Mike can walk to work! WOW!!!

So what next!

LMO

Book Flights

Book Removals

Book Dogs on a flight

Enjoy christmas, Olivers Christening and Birthday!

Thats all for now

October 16th 2008

Today has been the start of our trip to a new start in Calgary Canada, Mike accepted the job offer that Bird made him and the process for the TWP has began.

How do we feel people keep asking us that? - well Mike is very excited about the thought of a new begining, he has spoken to me about the new life we could have !

Me however, well i spent many sleepless nights thinking what if! i have gone over and over in my head about staying and going, i have spoken to the children who have given me their thoughts which, has helped me in someway. My children mean the world to me and even though they are still young i have listen to their thoughts and ideas.

My first worry was what if it didnt work out - what would we do? so on that note, we have decided not to sell our house in Bexleyheath but to rent it out for a few years, so that we can be sure we are making the right choice.

The next thing that i have spent hours of thinking is not seeing my nephews and my neice growing up, the thought of them thinking of us as Uncle Mike and Untie Lisa in Canada well that has brought tears to my eyes - but again this is something that we are going to do is keep in touch with them on a skype once a week and make sure they know that we will always be there for them. - as soon as they can fly on their own they can come and spend their school holidays with us.

Again the next worry was leaving behind, mums, dads, sister, brother, nans grandads unties uncles and cousins well i can tell you i have been feeling very sick of the thought of this.

I know that both Jackie and Graham and Sue and Steve will be upset to see us leave the UK and upset to see Scott, Hannah and Adam go too but they have been very good about it all. They understand that this is a lifetime experience and we must try and make it work otherwise we will always think what if we did go ? we are doing this for us and our children, we want them to see more then just UK life and experience a different way of life and hopefully we will all settle and be very happy.

Off course we will miss seeing them all but again distance is closer now what with Skype, Facebook, MSN and blogger and off course the trips we will all have from Canada to the UK and the UK to Canada.

We are hoping and praying that this life change works out for us and we have given ourselves a two year time scale to settle and feel happy, if after two years, we are not happy, we will be returning back to the UK and putting it down to experience.

Anyway thats enough from today and i hope this blog will help me, Mike and the kids keep in touch and help you as our family and friends we love.
